Hair Oil Recipe with Curry Leaves

Curry leaves can be applied on hair by themselves or in combination with other ingredients like fenugreek, shikakai and neem which aid healthy hair. Curry leaves can be incorporated in hair care regimen as a hair mask, hair vitalizer or in hair oil. A fine paste of fresh curry leaves mixed with curd can be applied on hair. Requirements

Coconut oil- 1 cup

Fresh curry leaves- 1-2 entire fronds which have 10-12 leaves each

Fenugreek seeds (methi seeds): 1 tbsp

Preparation

Heat coconut oil in a pan till smoking point. Take care not to burn it. Take the pan off the heat. Add fenugreek seeds and curry leaves in hot oil and cover the pan. When the oil cools off a little, but still in a liquid state, pour it into a glass jar. You may strain it if you prefer.

Use

Massage generous quantities of this oil on hair and scalp and leave for a couple hours. You can use the warm towel method at this stage which is optional. Soak a small towel in steaming hot water and squeeze it well. Wrap it over your head to cover your hair. The steam from the towel will help the oil to spread well and moisturise the scalp and hair. Wash the oil off with your regular shampoo. You will definitely notice the change in your hair after a couple of uses.
